18.5 If you purchased directly from LINKD Alarms, you may contact us about those statutory rights.
18.6 If you purchased from another retailer, marketplace seller or reseller, your statutory rights are normally against that seller.
18.7 Nothing in this warranty affects your statutory rights.
19. Returns, cancellations and warranty claims
19.1 This warranty is separate from LINKD Alarms’ Returns, Refunds and Cancellations Policy.
19.2 A return or cancellation request for unwanted goods is not the same as a warranty claim.
19.3 If you are cancelling an eligible online order within the statutory cancellation period, that request will be handled under the applicable cancellation rules and LINKD Alarms’ Returns, Refunds and Cancellations Policy.
19.4 If goods have been handled, installed, marked, damaged, contaminated, used beyond what is necessary to inspect them, or made no longer resaleable as new, this may affect the refund available under the Returns, Refunds and Cancellations Policy where legally permitted.

23. Assessment of warranty claims
23.1 Each warranty claim will be assessed based on the information provided and, where necessary, inspection and testing of the product.
23.2 LINKD Alarms may ask for photographs or videos before asking for the product to be returned.
23.3 In some cases, this may allow us to resolve the issue more quickly without requiring an immediate return.
23.4 If the evidence clearly shows that the product has a genuine manufacturing fault, LINKD Alarms may approve a replacement or other appropriate remedy without requiring the product to be inspected first.
23.5 If the cause of the fault is unclear, LINKD Alarms may require the product to be returned for inspection and testing before a warranty decision is made.
23.6 This assessment process applies to the voluntary manufacturer warranty only and does not limit any statutory rights that may apply.
24. Returning a product for inspection

25.1 This section applies where you choose to make a claim under LINKD Alarms’ voluntary manufacturer warranty.
25.2 It does not apply where you are exercising statutory rights against the seller, where different legal rules may apply.
25.3 Where you are claiming under this voluntary manufacturer warranty only, and not exercising statutory rights against LINKD Alarms as the seller, you may initially be asked to send the product to us for assessment.
25.4 If the warranty claim is accepted and we require the product to be returned for inspection, LINKD Alarms will reimburse reasonable standard return postage where proof of postage cost is provided.
25.5 If the warranty claim is accepted, LINKD Alarms will pay the cost of sending the replacement product back to the customer using a standard delivery service.
25.6 If no manufacturing fault is found, or if the fault is found to be outside the scope of this warranty, LINKD Alarms may ask the customer to pay reasonable return shipping costs before the product is returned.
25.7 If you purchased directly from LINKD Alarms and are exercising statutory rights because you believe the goods are faulty, not as described, not of satisfactory quality or not fit for purpose, where legally applicable, different legal rules may apply, and this warranty returns process does not reduce those rights.
25.8 This shipping arrangement applies to the voluntary LINKD Alarms warranty process only. It does not limit any statutory rights or remedies that may apply where a consumer is exercising legal rights against the seller.
26. Remedies under this warranty
26.1 If a valid warranty claim is accepted, LINKD Alarms may, at its discretion:

26.3 Any replacement product supplied under this warranty will be suitable for normal use and will be covered for the remainder of the original warranty period, or for 30 days from delivery of the replacement, whichever is longer.
26.4 These remedies apply to this voluntary manufacturer's warranty only. They do not limit any statutory remedies that may be available where you purchased directly from LINKD Alarms and the goods do not meet the requirements of the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
27. Advance replacement service
27.1 In some cases, LINKD Alarms may provide an advance replacement before receiving the original product back.
27.2 This will usually only be considered where:
- The product appears to be faulty based on photographs or video evidence.
- The customer has provided all required order and delivery information.
- The customer has provided a clear written description of the fault.
- LINKD Alarms is satisfied that the claim is likely to fall within the warranty.
27.3 Advance replacements are offered at LINKD Alarms’ discretion and are not guaranteed.
27.4 Where an advance replacement is provided, LINKD Alarms may still require the original product to be returned.
27.5 If the original product is not returned when requested, or if inspection later shows that the fault was caused by damage, contamination, tampering, misuse, incorrect installation or another issue not covered by this warranty, LINKD Alarms reserves the right to request return of the replacement product or seek payment for the replacement and associated shipping costs, where legally permitted.
28. No fault found
28.1 If a product is returned under warranty and no manufacturing fault is found, LINKD Alarms may return the product to the customer.
28.2 If no manufacturing fault is found, or if the issue is caused by something excluded from this warranty, LINKD Alarms may ask the customer to pay reasonable return shipping costs before the product is returned.
28.3 LINKD Alarms will only charge inspection or testing fees where those fees have been clearly notified to the customer before they are incurred.
28.4 LINKD Alarms will not apply such charges without first notifying the customer.
28.5 This section applies to the voluntary manufacturer warranty only and does not limit any statutory rights or remedies that may apply.
29. Warranty refusal
29.1 LINKD Alarms may refuse a warranty claim where there is evidence that the fault, false alarm, failure or damage was caused by something not covered by this warranty.
29.2 This may include, but is not limited to:
- Impact damage.
- Incorrect installation.
- Unsuitable positioning.
- Misuse.
- Neglect.
- Contamination.

- Modification.
- Tampering.
- Removed or altered serial numbers, labels or batch information.
- Damage inconsistent with a manufacturing fault.
- Evidence that the alarm has been opened or interfered with.
29.3 A warranty claim will not be refused simply because the product shows normal signs of careful use.
29.4 However, damage, misuse, contamination, incorrect installation or wear that caused or contributed to the fault may mean the claim is not covered.
29.5 This section applies to the voluntary manufacturer warranty only. It does not affect any statutory rights you may have where goods are faulty, not as described, not of satisfactory quality, not durable, or not fit for purpose, where legally applicable.
30. Alarm testing and maintenance
30.1 To maintain reliable performance, alarms should be tested regularly and kept clean in accordance with the user instructions.
30.2 Dust, insects, paint, aerosols, steam, grease, smoke and other contaminants may affect the operation of any smoke, heat or carbon monoxide alarm.
30.3 Failure to test, clean or maintain the alarm in accordance with the supplied instructions may affect warranty eligibility where that failure causes or contributes to the fault.
30.4 You should never ignore an alarm activation. If an alarm sounds, you should treat it seriously, check for danger, follow the relevant safety guidance and contact the emergency services where appropriate.
31. Product safety and recalls
31.1 This warranty does not limit any product safety obligations that may apply to LINKD Alarms.
31.2 If LINKD Alarms becomes aware of a product safety issue, recall, corrective action or important safety notice affecting a product, LINKD Alarms will take appropriate action in accordance with applicable product safety laws and regulatory requirements.
